I'm just a 90s kid from the southern US who grew up with the internet and video games. My childhood was filled with games like Midnight Club, Call of Duty, Halo 2, and Need for Speed. As I got older, I became a huge fan of the Fast and Furious movies because I loved the cars and the thrill of imagining myself racing and drifting.
Eventually, my interests shifted towards creating things and coding, which led me to become a full-time web developer. Over the years, I got into sim drifting and bought Assetto Corsa for $3 as a joke to make my friend Dwight laugh. I used to bug him on Discord to stop playing his "little car game" and join me in a "real game." Little did I know, I'd soon be in my own sim rig, laughing, sweating, cursing, and having the most fun I've ever had with a video game.
While learning Assetto Corsa and downloading mods, I got frustrated with the sketchy websites and broken links. I was tired of dealing with expired Google Drive links and malicious sites. So, I decided to take matters into my own hands and built Gripped Up. Gripped Up serves the sim racing community as a trusted source for Assetto Corsa mods and resources. Our website is easy to navigate, and when you click download, that's exactly what happens. All files are self-hosted for security, ensuring you can trust Gripped Up for your mod downloads.
